Nickajack Cave’s lead in form to last year’s Melbourne Cup was a strong win over the to-be Melbourne Cup winner Twillight Payment.
Rating wise, Nickajack Cave looked a top hope in the Cup. Lesser trainers would have pushed on and tried their luck. Instead, Moody has saved the horse for a Autumn tilt at the Andrew Ramsden to secure a run in the Cup this November.
